Mum's Style Chicken Cabbage Braise (Serves 2)

Mum's Style Chicken Cabbage Braise (Serves 2)

Sale price$16.80

Growing up, this dish was a staple whenever mum had a busy schedule and had little time to cook dinner. We would come back to a one pot braise with lots of chicken, cabbage and mushrooms sitting on the stove, ready whenever we wanted dinner.

Years later, long after we'd moved out, we'd sometimes find ourselves craving this simple, home-style dish that could be found in no restaurant or food stall anywhere. Perhaps it was deemed too simple and unfancy, but we love it for its wholesome flavours, and the fact that re-heating it only makes the ingredients meld even better together.

Because the dish requires a certain minimum volume for the braise to cook down effectively, we have portioned it as a double-portion only. But trust us when we say, we're fully capable of eating it all in one sitting!

A little tip: you can even cook this in a rice cooker.
