
Chop Chop Red Braised Chicken
Hong Shao or red braising is a technique that we've been obsessed with since childhood. Usually done with pork belly, the art of slow braising shaoxing, sugar and soy sauce results in probably the most succulent and savory sauce one can think of.
Keeping in mind our time crunched schedules and our ever expanding waistlines, we've opted to red braise chicken along with hearty mix of bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms for this recipe. Along with a bowl of perfectly steamed short grain rice, this recipe is bound to having everyone asking for seconds! Ok maybe it won't be that good for our waistlines after all.
